tonight tonight tonight

general... nothing special, just watched two movies already... 10:53 p.m and I have just started watching Casualties of war, starring Sean Penn and Michael J. Fox. This is one of the few films that justifies sending care packages to the war effort. Why? well the more porn we send out, the less sexually stressed they are without women around. I mean this movie just shows the most brutal rape scene I have ever seen.... give or take boys dont cry... Who the fuck can actually call themselves a man by gang beating and raping a defenseless Vietnamese woman.... true story from the Vietnam war... for shame.

I haven't finished the movie sooooooo........

bored.

three day weekend, more like four actually

Oh... too think that maybe just maybe a four day weekend will do the trick and give me some rest, but oh no... it has not done anything for my body. Too much fun and adventure awaited me, and I should be happy that I am alloted more years for fun and adventure in my young age of 24... lol

The last days (Last meaning the very last) of summer had befallen yet again on Chicago, the wind is turning cooler by the hours that pass, and yet again by October's end we will lose sight of sunshine. Fear not though, hibernation is not always bad, we can look forward to the Holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years... We can also look forward to ice skating in Millenium park, and snow fights (never too old) when the earth seems to freeze over night.

I would also like to Congratulate my friend Diana for getting engaged with her longtime boyfriend, I am so happy and excited for her :D
I just found out, and it was quite ironic that is was such a surprise cause we were just talking about the thought of getting engaged the last time we had dinner together. :D

I went tubing Saturday afternoon with a bunch of friends, it was fun, but the I felt the after effects on my body directly 24 hours after it happened. I was tossed like a rag doll, holding on to dear life on the raft. It was such an experience. Some became sea sick, others attained a serious black eye (for which they can create awesome stories from, I know I would) and others got sick of too much alcohol, mainly a bottle of forty. :D

It was such a good time though, loved every minute, the waters were super cold though...

Saw the film "Adam" on Sunday with my love. I shall start writing about it, look out for it on Elk Grove!!!! Starring Rose Byrne and Hugh Dancy

About a man with Asperger's syndrome, and how he copes with having a love interest in his life.
Very cute a poignant piece.... but just read up when I finish mine.

I love Lucy

I love Lucy is probably one of the top five shows I love. As a kid, I love summers watching Nick @ Nite's summer block party, where they would dedicate a whole night from 6pm to midnight to one show. It was usually Lucy Tuesdays.

It was a simple show with a simple premise. A husband and wife, living in an apartment, sharing a life together filled with laughter and love. Although the story lines were simple, the fact of the matter is, they tackled a real life fact of life. Interracial marriages. They introduced the notion, that yes, women can be stay at home partners, but that they do have aspirations as well. True, these life lessons were tip toe'd around in the show, and true Lucy always gets in trouble from her husband. Yet, she keeps persevering to make it into show business, no matter who or what may try and stop her. I love this about the show. In small baby steps, they introduced the Cuban culture, from their music, to their foods, like Aros Compoyo (is that how you spell it?) They also showed the human side of being a minority, granted there were less representation of the minority group back then, than there is now, but it showed that everyone can love, get angry, and laugh equally in the same measure. the show garnered following because the show had heart and charisma that the audience can relate and try to emulate. There are only a few shows that can do what I love Lucy did.

Yesterday I felt it was an I Love Lucy night, so i took my collection of dvd's and watched. It brought so much memories and feeling back, I just don't know how to really describe it, a kind of euphoria came over me. My favorite episode is when Lucy tries to tell Ricky that she is pregnant but cannot immediately do so, because of all the interruptions. I kind of wept at the end when he was singing "Having a baby, my baby and me." You can actually tell the happiness they had, and that those tears were real tears of joy.

Trivia:

They were the first to use two cameras to capture one scene, to have different angles and such.

The first sitcom to have someone talk in the beginning to rev up the audience, a kind of stand up performance before the taping of the shows... now every sitcom does it!!!

The show was based on "My favorite husband", in which was a radio show on CBS.

Pushing Daisies

Spent last night at home because it was... ta da!!!! Pushing Daisies night!!!

I have heard about this show right when it first came out, but never came around to watching it on their nightly time slots on ABC. I remember watching the promo commercials for this and I was thinking, "wow I should follow that!" But due to the grueling schedule I had for school and work, it only gave me two options 1.) I either had to buy a TiVo machinery (at the time we didn't have one) or 2.)I would just have to wait for it to come out on DVD. Two years later, I got it through the grace of netflix.

Now I had no preconceived notions on what the shows' story was going to be about. I even had the wavering dilemma of losing interest at one point and opt for other movie options on netflix. It still hunted me though, like a blind date stand up, I feel a sense that I made a mistake doing so.

First episode was amazing, I felt as though I was watching something whimsical like a Disney movie, but dark and creepy like a Tim Burton movie. It was a very simple premise, boy has a gift of bringing people to life again, finds that there are negative aspects of this power, and hence tries to limit the use of it. Later he finds that his longtime crush and childhood friend had been murdered in a cruise line heading to Tahiti, calling foul, he sets out to bring her back to find out who killed her. By doing so, he finds that he still loves her and could not bring himself to let her go. Thus the setting of a great premise...

Why ABC? Why the hell would you pull a plug on this great show!!! I mean it had crotch tingling romance, it had suspense and murder, and it had a feel for the original. Even during the writer strikes, the show still stayed afloat. Why!!!!!?

Is it to weired for the general public? It is rather dark and morbid...

Although I am sad for the show to end, I am also glad due to the fact that Lee Pace is free to do other projects. Pace would also be safe from being a television regular.
I would bet that he would win the academy award in the near future. I have seen him in Soldier's girl and he did a smashing performance as pre-surgical trans gendered, who fell in love with a a soldier. Watching the film I did not notice that it was him who was playing the role. It was a brilliant movie.
Soooo, anyways....

I am waiting for the rest of the netflix cd's so I can finish season one!!! then I can get season 2 running on my player!!!

cannot wait.
