Netflix, Qwikster antics gone horrible

I totally promote the 99% who are picketing in wall street and every down town area tonight. Hopefully something comes out of it... like universal health care, and cheaper housing, and also... cheaper netflix.....

Yeah I said it. Like many of our needs, I have depended solely on Netflix for entertainment. Cable is too expensive for me to subscribe to, considering I have to pay bills for health care, car and home. Give me a break Netflix, I mean you were the only saving grace to this Capitalist society and now you are also one of the many companies taking advantage of the poor and "99%" of us all.

According to the New York Times online Reed Hasting, CEO of Netflix had the notion to split the two services. By naming the home DVD delivery branch of the company to Qwikster, he again tested the patience of the many subscribers that Netflix had. The price hike weeks prior had angered a million subscribers to leave (probably switching to Blockbuster, amazon, or VUDU) taking their money somewhere else. This confusing tactic of splitting the company again created another fall out between the company and 800,000 more members.

The big sweaty slap in the face is that, through all the splitting and reverting, the price did not decrease at all. Although acknowledged in the video apology, he did not take into account that maybe, just maybe, decreasing the price will give peace to wrong doings he had led the company into. Maybe at this rate, Netflix's debacle is Blockbuster's saving grace. I do miss hauling myself to the nearest blockbuster store, simply out of nostalgia.

The company was quoted as saying in a letter directed to shareholders "We are done with pricing changes."

Oh really Netflix? really? What will you do when you get rid of DVDs and rely on streaming. With the millions you already paid for CW shows, can you really actually swear and promise that in the future you wont hike up the prices.... cause if you break one more promise, I think there will be a mutiny in the streets.

Well if you break that promise one more time, I will just be left to just shaking my fists at you in disdain.... Why I oughta!!!!

But although it is looking bad for the company, they are planning a UK take over. Netflix will soon spill over to Europe. According to itworld.com starting early next year, they will be able to offer the streaming service to the U.K and Ireland. The world take over had started since Netflix already expanded to Canadian soil just last year, and now it is only right to expand to other continents. So this too may a big factor in why Hasting is hopeful for the future of his brainchild.
