Failures are often big triumphs....

I often base my decisions on fear and hesitation. I often over think things before actually doing them. Scrutinizing every idea I have until it
is a bloodied pulp. I am relatively scared of failure. I am not saying I am special, surely millions of other souls out there are feeling the same. Specially in this economy, we are terrified and frozen by fear of failure.

To be honest, failure is part of triumph. It merely comes with the territory, mixed in with risk, determination and faith.

So what? Why am I talking about failure? What in my daily life sparked this topic, enough so that I would dedicate a whole post for it....

Well...

I was reading an article, I do not even remember from what magazine it was, it had an interview article with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He happened to mention a movie called "The R
oom." This film, Joseph Gordon-Levitt said, was known by the film industry as the worst film ever made. So like the dork that that I am, I wikipedia'd the film and read everything there is to know about it. Finding out the Plot, who directed and wrote it, who were part of the cast. Everything.

Then in some cinematic revelation, I raised my head from my lap top screen, turned to my boyfriend and said... "Babe, Failures are not often failures!"
Said boyfriend then raises his face from a mens magazine, pats me on the back, and returns his head back into his reading.

To think about it, The Room, had so many plot holes. Had a shoddy script written for horrible actors. Nothing about this film was done perfectly, but was only driven by the film's director/writer Tommy Wiseau. This guy was not a conventional good looking hollywood lead actor to begin with. It might have been a mistake to even cast himself in the lead. Yet with all these elements and factors working against this little indie film, a miracle happened... and this one takes the cake for big miracles. This film was so horrible, that it garnered a small cult following. This film was so horrible, unintentionally funny and awkward, that people actually pay and travel long distances to see it shown in movie theaters all across the country. Much like how "The rocky horror picture show" is a cult hit, this one is also considered to be one simply because it was made. They show this in twilight showings, people actually dress up like the weird characters in the movie. Even I want to see the movie and meet the writer (He sometimes accompanies the showings with an after Q&A.)

I love the fact that it all worked out for the best, that the gamble paid off, the hard work and actually having it finished was an accomplishment in itself. I am sure Tommy Wiseau had many doubts, and nay sayers. The thing that makes his success so much sweeter is that he never listened to any of the negativity the movie had garnered. In fact, the negativity actually helped the film with its massive following.

I cant wait to find a movie theater twilight showing of this. It would be fun....

Random I know.

I spent some time looking for some Youtube excerpts for this film. I found the trailer, which would keep you laughing until you find a midnight showing of this opus. Enjoy!!!!

Or this compilation of the main characters parts......

Trust me, it would all make sense when you read IMDB's inofrmation about this movie.
